For a shed foundation, we recommend a gravel stone pad as our top choice. A good starting point is to clear the area and use 4x6 or 6x6 pressure-treated timber for the outside border of your pad.

To determine the size of your pad, add 2 feet to the length and width of your shed. For example, a 10x14 shed should have a pad that's 12x16.

A gravel stone pad provides quick drainage and keeps the structural level stable and dry. Fill the area with 4 to 6 inches of #5 certified drain stone to achieve this.

Paver blocks are not recommended for sheds larger than 10x16, but they can be an option for smaller sheds or when time is a constraint.
