Understanding the symbols on your Samsung fridge freezer can be a bit overwhelming, but it's actually quite straightforward once you know what they mean. The symbols are designed to be easy to read and understand, even from a distance.
The most common symbol you'll see is the "Ice" symbol, which indicates that the ice compartment is open. This is usually a blue or purple color to grab your attention.
To check if the ice compartment is open, simply look for the symbol on the control panel. If it's lit up, you know the ice compartment is accessible.
The "Fast Freeze" symbol is another important one to know. This symbol indicates that the freezer is in fast freeze mode, which is designed to quickly freeze food at a lower temperature. This is perfect for when you need to freeze food quickly, like after a big shopping trip.

Ice and Freezer Settings
The freezer settings on your Samsung fridge are pretty straightforward, but there are a few things to keep in mind to get the most out of them.
To set the freezer temperature, press the Freezer button and it will change in a specific sequence: -23 °C, -15 °C, -17 °C, -19 °C, -21 °C, and back to -23 °C. This sequence helps prevent system failure or food spoilage.
Don't set the temperature to -15 °C in summer, as it can cause the system to work too hard and potentially fail. Also, never store glass bottles containing liquid in the freezer, as they can crack or break into pieces when the liquid freezes.
Power Freeze is a handy feature that speeds up the freezing process at maximum fan speed. To activate it, press and hold the Freezer button for 3 seconds, and the corresponding indicator will light up. This allows you to freeze large amounts of food quickly, but be aware that it increases power consumption and should be turned off when not in use.
Freezer/Hold 3 Sec Power
If you need to freeze an item quickly, holding the Freezer button for 3 seconds activates Power Freezer, which allows you to choose a temperature from between -14℃ and -23℃.
This function is especially useful for freezing items in a short space of time. However, be aware that using Power Freezer for more than 24 hours can overwork the compressor.
To prevent system failure or food spoiling, do not set the temperature to -15 °C in summer (above 35 °C).
Ice Off

The Ice Off icon is a straightforward one - it's a glass with 'Ice Off' written inside and below. If this icon is lit, it means your ice dispenser has been turned off.
To turn the ice dispenser back on, you'll need to press the Ice Off/Hold 3 sec for Child Lock button on your control panel.
