The company is planning concept shops in a few of its existing stores. This is in addition to their plans to open more stores in Japan.

MoMA Design has a multi-year alliance with Uniqlo, which is now in its second year. They work closely with creatives from the museum to create new merchandise.

Fans of Scandinavian Modern brand HAY will be pleased to learn that MoMA will be adding furniture to its assortment in March.

Launch Pad

Anna Dawson's career was given a significant boost when her Swell wall catchall was spotted by Heller CEO John Edelman at WantedDesign Manhattan.

The encounter took place in 2022, during Dawson's final year of an MFA in Furniture Design at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

The Swell prototype was originally created to simplify the process of entering and leaving one's home, and it features hooks for hanging coats and hats and cups to hold wallets and keys.

Dawson had shown the prototype at the Look Book section of the fair, where Edelman saw it and was immediately drawn to its design.

Edelman was impressed by the aesthetic appeal of Swell and its ability to be designed for a purpose without ego.

Heller's manufacturing engineers were able to tweak Dawson's digital model of Swell to fit the company's molding process, and they also swapped the prototype's fiberglass material for recyclable ABS plastic.

The result was a commercial product that was debuted at the 2023 ICFF and is now stocked globally, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store.

Dawson's collaboration with Heller has also led to further projects, including a foray into lighting.

Edelman sees the partnership as a way to jumpstart Dawson's career and is proud to have been a part of her success.
