Turn On

To turn on your gas fireplace, you'll need to locate the gas supply valve, typically behind the louvers or below the glass opening. It may be red or blue in color.

First, open the valve by pivoting the handle to be parallel to the gas line. This will allow gas to flow to the pilot assembly.

The pilot assembly is usually located behind and below the logs in the firebox, in the bottom center, and contains a spark ignitor. You'll need to push the red or black ignitor button to verify a spark at the pilot area.

If you press the ignitor button and don't see a spark, you might not have a manual ignition system. In this case, simply turn the on/off button, wall switch, or remote control to the "on" position to ignite the main burner.

To light the pilot, locate the black or green valve control knob, which should have the words "ON", "OFF", and "PILOT" on it. Push in and rotate the knob counter-clockwise until the word "pilot" is in the 6 o'clock position.

To light the pilot, press the valve knob in slightly and press the red piezo button repeatedly (about once per second) until the pilot ignites. If the pilot doesn't light, wait 5 minutes and try again.

Once the pilot is lit, continue to hold the valve knob in for 30 seconds, then slowly release. If the pilot light goes out, contact SUNDANCE Energy at (425) 414-8015 for service.
